After quitting the volleyball team, high schooler Takamine finds herself drifting through her days, with little to look forward to beyond the routine of school and home. Everything feels dull and uninspiring.

That begins to shift when she meets Sakura, a girl from another school whose enthusiasm for reading immediately draws Takamine in. Listening to Sakura speak so passionately, Takamine begins to wonder what it would feel like to care about something so deeply.

When an accidental book swap gives her a reason to see Sakura again, Takamine takes the opportunity. As their connection grows through books and conversation, she finds herself drawn to the excitement she’s been missing.
